From Auberive, follow the D428 towards Germaines. Cross Germaines by the same road then join Colmier-le-Haut. Cross the village continuing to follow the D428 (which will become D928 once in Côte d'Or), this time towards Recey-sur-Ource. Cross Recey by the same road, you must leave the village exit turning left on the D29 towards Essarois. At the intersection with the D996, turn left on this road then right on the D29 to Essarois. Cross the village and continue on the D29 towards Rochefort. Then take the forest road on the right, then right again the forest road to the abbey. At the intersection of the Mathey and Tézénas roads, continue straight on the Tézénas road. At the intersection, at the pond, turn right on the road towards Voulaines-lès-Templiers. In Voulaines, turn right on the D928 at the inter-section after the church, to join Leuglay. Cross the village partly by this road and then follow the D102h towards Faverolles-lès-Lucey. In Faverolles, first take the D102 on the left for a few meters before turning right onto the D102c towards Gurgy-le-Château. At the junction at the entrance of the village turn left to join Gurgy-la-Ville on the D22. In Gurgy-la-Ville, turn right on the D22b towards Rouvres-sur-Aube. In Rouvres-sur-Aube, turn right on the D20 towards Auberive. Cross Bay-sur-Aube always following the same road to Auberive. Itinerary

 Auberive and its abbey
Ancient and rich Cistercian abbey, Auberive was founded in 1135 on the banks of the Aube by Saint-Bernard and the bishop of Langres, Villain d'Aigrement, with the support of the surrounding lords. The
monastery, particularly prosperous in the twelfth century, suffered the devastation of the Hundred Years War, the wars of Religion in the sixteenth century, and the Thirty Years War (XVII century) since located at the border between Champagne and Burgundy. The old buildings were rebuilt in the eighteenth century in the great movement of rebuilding abbeys, initiated by Saint-Denis in Paris. In the 19th century, it became a central house for women.
The Val des Choues
In 1193, the monks founded the Val des Choues abbey instead of a hermitage. The foundation is recognized by Rome in 1203, by a Bull of Pope Innocent III. It would be the work of the Duke of Burgundy, owner at the time of all the forest. This new independent order, "the Order of the Valley of the Choues", is inspired by the Cistercian and Carthusian rules; it gave birth to new priories in France, but also in Spain and Scotland.
