Charming village of Cotes d'Armor in Brittany, Pont-Melvez takes place about fifty kilometers from Saint-Brieuc, halfway between Guingamp and Callac. It is located not far from Moustéru, Plougonver and Saint-Servais.

Of ancient origin, the territory of Pont-Melvez was marked for centuries by the presence of a Templar Commandery, which passed later in the hands of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem who kept the property until the French Revolution. Primarily agricultural, the town has retained over time its authentic and cozy look, including revealing unspoilt visitors came to discover the charms of Brittany.

Passing through the area, it is also possible to enjoy the traditional architecture of the town and its modest heritage.

Things to see and do

Passage by the municipality of Pont-Melvez, discover the charms of the Church of St. John the Baptist or the eponymous chapel. Inside the church, you can admire an amazing statue of St. John child, while outside we find a statue of the saint adult. Originally founded by the Knights Templar, the current date of the sixteenth century church, although the base of the tower dates from the seventeenth.

The village is also rich in shrines, including the Kroas Ruz, the seventeenth century, today classified historic monument. It represents a Pieta and takes place once a route connecting two commanderies of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem. Several crosses are also visible.

Below the chapel of Christ, St. John fountain is famous for its miraculous healing water sore eyes.

Walking through the village, let yourself be seduced by the house of Kerfubu seventeenth century, the Ty-Nevez-Mouric underground or path Guerduel.
