New commune of Loir-et-Cher, Le Controis-en-Sologne was born on January 1, 2019 from the merger of Contres, Feings, Fougères-sur-Bièvre, Ouchamps and Thenay. It is located about twenty kilometers from Blois and its famous castle, not far from Cormeray, Cheverny and Saint-Romain-sur-Cher.
Ancient, the territory of Controis-en-Sologne has developed over the centuries, particularly illustrated in the Middle Ages during the Hundred Years War or during the collapse of the Spanish Republic in 1939 by welcoming several thousand Spanish refugees.
Located in the heart of a Natura 2000 classified area, the town attracts visitors both with its incredible fauna and flora diversity and its built heritage testifying to the typical architecture of the region.
