Near the bridge Amboise, park along the Loire near the town hall for the start of the hike.
Departure in front of the Town Hall of Amboise (Morin Hotel). Go up rue de la Concorde to pass under the impressive royal castle.
At the end of the rue de la Concorde, turn left to catch the quai de la Loire. Walk along the river for a few meters then turn right into a tiny artery that will take you to the Maison des Pages. Continue the ascent to reach the plateau of Châteliers. Turn left on Augustin Thierry Street. Before turning right, do not forget to admire the remains of the Gallic rampart.
Go down to the valley of the Amasse. Turn right before the bridge spanning the small stream to pass through a pasture meadow. Go along the road then turn right to reach Clos Lucé, Leonardo da Vinci's last home.
Return to the city center, along the hillside which has many troglodyte dwellings. On the Michel Debré square, you can admire the half-timbered facades, before joining the starting point of the hike.
