Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne, city of culture. Châtillon, in its rural space and in its role as a central city, has built up, over the years, a reputation as a "cultural" place. The city had predispositions with its very rich architectural heritage, its heart of the village (church, halls, half-timbered houses, etc.) and the ramparts of its castle. This heritage could only offer a "case" to various cultural events which have taken place and which now constitute "highlights" during the year. In addition to these well-identified moments, many cultural practices are offered to residents, with a focus on children and young people.
- The National Festival of Contemporary Amateur Theater in April-May.
