Located on the left bank of the Tet, 4 km from Perpignan, Bompas currently has a population of about 7300 inhabitants. Despite a very strong population growth in the 1970s, the village has kept a particularly pleasant living environment. So Bompas manages to reconcile an efficient urban development, modern amenities and the preservation of a natural environment of great wealth. The town currently has 20,000 m² of lawns, 3000 meters and 3200 hedgerow trees. To this figure must be added the 35 000 m² of stadiums and playgrounds, which function as so many parks located throughout the city. Other areas are currently under study or construction, including a new 3-hectare leisure park. But the heart of the city is its exceptional Parc des Sports and Recreation. This 8-hectare green lung has several sports fields, an area of festivities, picnic areas, children's play areas and even a zoo ( the enchanted space).
