Catalan commune of the Pyrénées-Orientales, Cabestany is located in the heart of the Occitanie region, bordering south of Perpignan. Located in the Roussillon plain, it is also close to Canet-en-Roussillon and Saleilles. In Catalan, the name of the town comes from "Cap" Head and "Estany" Pond, and evokes the geographical location at the tip of the pond of Canet - Saint-Nazaire. The population is nearly 10,000 inhabitants, city where life is good.
In the past, the city of Cabestany was almost entirely dedicated to growing grapes and producing wine. It is today rather turned towards the residential and benefits from the aura of its big tourist neighbor. Pleasant home for visitors to the area, Cabestany is ideally located to enjoy a holiday in the sun.
Quite old, the town however presents an interesting architectural heritage, turned in particular to its medieval history. Hiking trails and other outdoor sports activities are also part of this city that lacks neither heat nor attraction.
