Located in the Massif Central, between Authre Valley and the Cere, Ytrac is a town of about 4200 inhabitants in full expansion.
Polemicist journalist and poet, was born in Arsene Vermenouze Vielle, in the commune of Ytrac on 26 September 1850. He was the leader and figurehead of the rebirth of the langue d'oc in the Cantal. By 1890, he expressed an essential idea of Félibrige: the unity of the Occitan language beyond the regional variations. Regionalist poet, he never ceased to describe the world around him.
