Former fortified castle of the 11th century, the castle of Montguerlhe sits at the top of the eponymous plateau, at an altitude of more than 800 m. Currently in ruins, it is a fine example of a primitive military structure from the Middle Ages in the Thiers region.
Almost nothing remains of the Château de Montguerlhe except for an imposing master tower hidden in the Saint-Agath forest. An important hiking trail is the opportunity to discover these stones present for almost a millennium.
