Wine-growing village of Haut-Rhin, Rodern sits back from the Wine Route, dominating the charms of the Alsace plain. The cradle of Pinot Noir takes place between vineyards and forest, about twenty kilometers from Colmar, not far from Ribeauvillé, Zellenberg and Riquewihr.
Located in the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park, the town of Rodern seduces with its landscapes as much as with its traditional Alsatian architecture. Occupied since the Neolithic period, the territory developed from the 8th century, notably through its wine-growing activities. Strongly affected by the Armagnac war, then by the Thirty Years' War, it was however reborn from its ashes, in particular thanks to the exploitation of the coal basin of the Villé valley between the 18th and 19th centuries.
Today, Rodern is geared towards tourism, offering a unique wealth of heritage, between history and nature.
