Plonéour-Lanvern is a Breton town located in the department of Finistère, in the heart of the country Bigouden. Located in the arrondissement of Quimper, it takes place about ten kilometers from Guilvinec.
Populated since Gallo-Roman times, the city of Plonéour-Lanvern which takes its name from Saint Enéour, was illustrated at the end of the 17th century with the episode of the revolt of the Red Bonnets. This anti-tax revolt of the Ancien Régime was launched following the increase of many taxes throughout France, but more mainly in Lower Brittany.
