Things to see and do

Built in the 11th century by monks from the abbey of Landévennec, the Saint-Philibert chapel in Lanvern was largely restored in the mid-17th century. Soon after, the bell tower was decapitated in 1675 during the revolt of the Red Bonnets.

Not far away is the chapel of Our Lady of Languivoa built in the 13th century. Mixing Romanesque and Gothic styles, it was heavily damaged during the succession wars of Britain in the fourteenth century. Reorganized in the 17th century, it now has classical influences. Also deprived of its bell tower during the revolt of the Red Bonnets, the building still houses today one of the oldest statues of Cornwall, a Notre-Dame de Languivoa polychrome alabaster from the late thirteenth century.

Walking in the commune of Plonéour-Lanvern you can also discover the church of Saint-Enéour of the middle of the XIXe century, as well as the quadrangular enclosure of Cozmaner, also called Park ar Hastel. It takes place only fifty meters from the Roman road from Quimper to Tronoën.

Beach of fine sand on the bay of Audierne, the beach of Plonéour-Lanvern is ideal for the swimming or the walk. Marked hiking trails are also accessible in and around the town and the practice of snow sports is also possible.
