Commune member of the urban unit of Vichy, Bellerive-sur-Allier is located in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in the department of Allier. It takes place at the limit of Limagne Bourbonnaise, about an hour from Moulins, not far from Charmeil or Serbannes.
Formerly known as Vesse, the commune takes its current name at the beginning of the 20th century under the impulse of its mayor of the moment. Populated since Antiquity, it is still, in the nineteenth century, a modest rural village known for its intermittent source that attracts many curious. Bellerive-sur-Allier, however, experienced considerable urbanization in the 1960s, taking advantage of the influence of Vichy and its economic development.
Now populated by nearly 9,000 inhabitants, the commune of Bellerive-sur-Allier continues to seduce by its architectural heritage, as well as by its natural environment laid out and pleasant.
