The immense Montparnasse Tower in the 15th arrondissement, near the Montparnasse - Bienvenüe Metro station, surely offers some of Paris' most beautiful views, along with the Eiffel Tower! Inaugurated in 1973, this skyscraper stands 210 metres tall and was heavily criticised when it first went up. Yet from the top you can admire such prestigious sites as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Palace, Notre-Dame de Paris, Les Invalides, the Luxembourg Garden and the Centre Pompidou.

Riding in one of the world's fastest lifts, you can reach the 56th floor in just 38 seconds flat. Once you arrive, you'll find the panoramic terrace by going up the steps to the 59th floor. From there, the 360° view over the rooftops of Paris is breathtaking, and there are orientation tables to help you spot the capital's most important monuments. It's exceptional at any time of day, but the view is also greatly appreciated at sunset or when night has fallen, and the city shines brightly with its enchanting illuminations…

Further down, on the 56th floor with its large bay windows, there are superb views of the capital as well as a permanent exhibition of archive photos of Paris, interactive terminals and signs showing the city in augmented reality. A panoramic bar and one of Europe's highest gastronomic restaurants complete the complex.

At the foot of the tower, the Montparnasse district all around is particularly lively with its shops, cafes, brasseries and restaurants.
