With its 3.5 km of fine sand, gently sloping, the beach of Hendaye asserts itself as one of the safest in the Basque Country. With water reaching 24°C in the best of summer, it is a privileged site for families looking for space and security. This Hendaye beach also constitutes a good compromise, both for novice surfers and for experienced surfers looking for sensation. Beach operators offer various services such as rental of tents, deckchairs and beach clubs for children.

Maison de la Corniche Basque, Asporotsttipi, gateway to the Abbadia estate and the corniche, this nature interpretation center presents exhibitions, conferences and screenings throughout the year.

Located in the heart of downtown Hendaye, the Interpretation Center, Andaye, La Cité des Mémoires-Oroitzapenen Hiria, is dedicated to the history of Hendaye and more broadly of the Basque Country.
Domaine Abbadia, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and at the foot of the Pyrenees, discover the flysch, these impressive rock formations in vertical strata, below the Domaine d'Abbadia, which is the charm of the Basque Corniche. The site is characterized by steep cliffs, coves and two famous rocks "the Jumeaux", witnesses to the retreat of the coastline. The cliffs tell, in fact, in a few hundred meters, millions of years of the earth's history.

Exposition - Faune et Flore du Sud du Golfe de Gascogne

Through photographs taken in 2015 and 2020 on the rocky Basque coast by the IFREMER team in Anglet, discover the richness and diversity of the animals and plants of this coastline particularly exposed to the swell of the Bay of Biscay. - These scientific images represent a selection from several projects carried out by the Laboratoire Environnement Ressources d'Arcachon. - The shared aim of these projects is to assess the ecological state of the environment and improve scientists' knowledge of biodiversity. During these research projects, individuals from the fauna and flora that cannot be identified on site are collected. - At the same time, photos are systematically taken in the field. - This exhibition is both a tribute to the fieldwork carried out by oceanographic scientists and to the associated discoveries.

F.F.F. Beach Soccer Tour 2024

As every year, the French Football Federation and the Amateur Football League (L.F.A.) organize this summer the F.F.F. Beach Soccer Tour - In addition to the numerous animations proposed to the public and the fields put at disposal, the day is punctuated by strong times. - The reception and the registrations are done directly on the spot - The tournaments are supervised by F.F.F. qualified educators and professionals of the sports event. - On the program this year : beach soccer matches, foot volleyball initiations, radar shooting challenges, freestyle demonstrations, ball handling workshops and artistic animation framed by the newspaper.

Take part in a stroll through the remains, followed by geopolitical explanations of the construction and garrison. Demonstrations of the skills used in construction, performed on the lower battery, will be presented to you. - The fort built by Louis XIV, based on the palisaded defense tower designed by the engineer Poupard, is much more modest than the one imagined by the royal engineer Jacques Alleaume, when he came to Hendaye in August 1618. Nevertheless, the fortress was part of Louis XIV's plan for greatness, both for himself and for his people. The city of Fontarabie was impressed, and the people of Hendaye found relative peace… - Departure from the lower esplanade of the Halles Gaztelu.
