The Marmot Lawn and the Edelweïss Garden

Depart from the town of Eaux-Bonnes, latitude 42.950828 (N 42° 57’ 3”), longitude -0.338654 (W 0° 20’ 19”)

• The Marmot Lawn

• The Ski Area offers 3 family-friendly hiking routes on the Bézou plateau, including the Pelouse aux Marmottes route which is an easy 500 m walk in an "all-terrain" stroller with only 20 m of vertical drop.
• Leaving the Besou gondola, go on your left and follow the main path that goes straight, do not take the loops that go down. You have arrived.
• For the record: in the Pyrenees, the species was extinct, probably for millennia. It is possible that this disappearance was due to too much hunting pressure. The species was reintroduced after the Second World War and the population thus formed is now perennial, it is gradually expanding and it will probably end up occupying the entire Pyrenean massif.

• The Garden of Edelweiss

• To get to the Jardin des Edelweiss which is about an hour one way on 1.3 km and 100 m of vertical drop, continue your way on this path (do not take perpendicular paths) where you will arrive above the second water reserve (the other basin that feeds the snow cannons on the Cotch sector) to the mountain restaurant Snow K'Fé (closed in summer).
• At the water reserve, start going down by taking the loop. Turn right and go up until you pass over a stream. You have reached the foot of the Pène Sarrière. To leave, you can do the same route in the opposite direction and take the gondola or go down by taking the paths to arrive at the bottom of the station.

• Vallon du valentin

• For those who want to continue, you still have 30 minutes to arrive at the shepherd's hut on the valley of Anglas. Continue your way straight down to Plaa de Batch, climb to the hut of Coste Goua which is on the other bank of the Valentin where the shepherd is, but which will not necessarily be there on the day of your hike. You've arrived! For the return, several possibilities: make the same route in the opposite direction and go down by the gondola, go down to the resort of Gourette by the GR10 or for the bravest, continue to Lake Anglas following the GR10, return either by the same path or by the GR10 marked in red and white or 1 hour of descent from the hut or 2 hours for those who have climbed to Lake Anglas.
