In odd years, during the first week of August, from Wednesday to Sunday, the rural home of Mainfonds-Aubeville organizes the European Cup of hot air balloons. More than 70 hot air balloons are waiting for a spectacular competition in the skies of the country of Cognac which attracts tens of thousands of spectators. On the last day, an air show punctuated by fun and musical events concludes this major event that mobilizes many volunteers and makes the town one of the strongholds of the discipline in Europe.
