Visite Découverte Inédite : Agriculture et Paysage en Harmonie, un Parc Dessiné par le Comte de Choulot

- Discover the property and gardens of the Maison du Parc du Morvan in Saint-Brisson, through the prism of the layout designed by Paul de Lavenne, Comte de Choulot, a famous 19th-century landscape gardener. In 1858, he drew up a plan that harmoniously blended the agricultural and landscape functions of the Saint-Brisson estate, many traces of which can still be seen today. - The tour will feature several voices, including a reading of the landscape from past to present, readings of extracts from the theory "The Art of Gardens" by the Count of Choulot and historical anecdotes about the site. - At the end of the tour, the two authors will sign a book devoted to the Comte de Choulot and his work in the Nivernais region, at the Bistrot du Parc, which will be offering a tasting of herbal teas and kefir. - This event is the fruit of a partnership between the Nièvre Council for Architecture, Town Planning and the Environment (CAUE), the Morvan Regional Nature Park and the Bistrot du Parc.

- A 2-voice themed tour, with a cross between history and the environment, to understand the history of timber rafting in the Morvan and the upheavals it caused on the waterways, which are still visible today. The visit will begin at the Maison des Hommes et des Paysages, where you will learn about the history of this industry, which mobilised most of the Morvan population from the mid-16th century to the mid-19th century. To mark the occasion, a previously unseen object will be presented to the public for the first time ! The tour will continue around the Etang Taureau, a former floating pond.

- Come and discover the construction techniques for dry-stone walls in the Morvan. - Martin Muriot, a professional mason and President of the French Federation of Dry Stone Professionals, will be on hand to present and demonstrate construction and renovation techniques for the dry stone walls that are so typical of the Morvan. This will be an opportunity to showcase this emblematic heritage of the Morvan landscape, which is still important today for managing natural risks and preserving the environment and biodiversity.
