Town in Loire-Atlantique in Pays de la Loire, Sautron takes place about ten kilometers from Nantes, it is part of the urban unit. It is located not far from Saint-Herblain Treillières and Vigneux-de-Bretagne.

Cited in the eleventh century, Sautron commune grows at the time under the authority of a priory of women. Property of the Duke of Britain until the late fifteenth century and later joined the Kingdom of France following the marriage of Anne of Brittany with the King of France.

Things to see and do

Main tourist attraction of the city, the Notre Dame Chapel Bongarant was built in the fifteenth century following the wishes of Francis II, then Duke of Brittany, who fell at this place during a boar hunt and was saved however. Events and festivities

The weekly Sautron markets are held on Tuesday late afternoon and Sunday morning. A Christmas market with entertainment is organized in December.

Every year in March, the Phelippes-Beaulieux Space hosts the exhibition Exhibits his Sautron Artists, for all amateur artists of the city..

Each year in May, Sautron puts a country of honor on the occasion of the Europe Day with various events.

Concerts are offered in June for the Music Day.

July 14, National Day, Sautron many different events including performances, strolling or a concert.

An open air cinema is open in late August.

From late September to early October, Sautron hosts its Art Impressions area with workshops for younger or exhibitions.

Every year in October, the city gives way to its international open chess club accompanied of a gaming festival to discover many new features.
