Vigneux-de-Bretagne

The town of Vigneux-de-Bretagne unveils its visitors a number of important monuments in typical Breton architecture and unique landscapes in their kind.

The city has several castles on its territory, like the castle of the Bretonnière, former hunting lodge of the Dukes of Rohan. The current building was built in the sixteenth century and remodeled in the eighteenth in a Breton neogothic style. Today it hosts receptions or seminars. The Château du Bois-Rignoux, who now serves as convalescent home, not missing more interest. With thirty hectares of woods and meadows, a manor house and two ponds, the monument which dates from the late nineteenth century seduced passing visitors.

The site also houses two churches, those of St. Martin built in 1860, and the Holy Trinity of Paquelais which dates from the 1850s.

Walking through Vigneux-de-Bretagne, it is possible to admire several mills, including a refurbished walk and appreciate the charms of the pond Choizeau.

Several marked footpaths across Vigneux-de-Bretagne, like the loop de Sevigne, that of Mill, or the binding of a meridian.

Attached to its traditions, the city of Vigneux-de-Bretagne offers throughout the year of cultural importance and sporting events.

The weekly market takes place every Saturday morning. A market for land is offered each August.

The month of May sees the celebration of the spring festival at the museum.

In September, the city offers its festival buckwheat to the rural museum of the Pays Nantais. crafts demonstrations of old and animations are scheduled.

Cyclo-cross the city, organized in September, attracts many cycling enthusiasts.

Running, running two bell towers, or Strides vignolaises, animates the city in October.

Every two years in October, all the cities of the Community of Municipalities offer the Itty Bitty festival with entertainment for the younger ones.
