Things to see and do

Full of charm, the city of Saint-Symphorien-d'Ozon kept authenticity and heritage to accommodate lovers of history and old buildings. Partly

listed historical monument, the church of Saint-Symphorien is no shortage of interest. The latter was built in the twelfth century and changed regularly until the nineteenth. Without transept, it is dominated by a Romanesque style and has a tower with twin bays. Its present appearance dates from the seventeenth century, and one can discover a garden created following the reconstruction of the retaining wall of the old cemetery. Inside, one can find such paintings from the seventeenth century, a baroque altarpiece, or a beautiful Pietà, copy of a work of Carracci.

Several mansions dating from the eighteenth century embellish the city of Saint-Symphorien-d'Ozon, such as La Colombiere which hosts taxes today or that of Melat that serves as City Hall. This was also partially listed historic monument. In the commune, Renaissance houses, medieval streets remains as Henry street, or a staircase in Lyon, to the delight of visitors. This is a reply to any dimension of the grand staircase of the court of Voraces Lyon. It serves two buildings in a courtyard.

Built between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries, the Notre-Dame-des-Mariniers is an unavoidable passage Saint-Symphorien-d'Ozon.

Decommissioned in the late sixteenth century, a former castrum left some traces.

Green spaces abound in the town and allow beautiful walks, like the edges of Ozon, the Great Lands, or the reed bed. Furnished, they offer privileged location to learn about some outdoor activities or for a picnic with family or lovers.

Saint-Symphorien-d'Ozon The market is held every Friday morning. In December, the Christmas market seduces younger with the arrival of Santa Claus.

The ladybug party, which helps in learning more about this insect and its environment, takes place in June.

The fair of the city takes place in September with an associative village, children's games, garage sales or even arts and crafts demonstrations and crafts of the past, or product tastings terroir.
