Saint-Molf is a town in Loire-Atlantique in Pays de la Loire, north of Guerande which it borders.
Vast nearly 23 km², its territory is located in the Guérande peninsula, in the Brière Natural Park.
Close to the Atlantic coast, its land is still largely on agriculture, more than 50%. Also remain saltmarsh (140 hectares), wetlands (315 ha) and wood lots (300 ha). Agriculture and salt production were and remain the two economic pillars of the town.
Occupied since prehistoric times (the remains of tools and forges prior to AD have been unearthed), crossed by Roman roads in ancient times, the village developed in the Middle Ages after the people of Great Britain are installed in the area.

The first church dating from the ninth century became too dilapidated, the current Saint-Molf church (the name of an Irish saint of the seventh century) was built in 1850 and the construction lasted until 1873. Romanesque style, the the building has a nave with cross vaults and aisles with barrel vaults. The vaults were built of brick in the region that have the advantage of light inside. Two statues are housed in the choir (St. Molf and St. John the Baptist) and relics from the Irish saint are kept in the altar. also observed a painting in panels carved wood (XVII) above the door of the sacristy, evoking Christ's agony in Gethsemane. The church was renovated in 2007. In terms of further assets, the Saint-Germain (rebuilt in 1880) retained a novel style and original porch was preserved. One of the windows represents Saint Molf. Inside, the chapel houses a painted altarpiece of the seventeenth century once kept in the old church, and three statues, one representing St. Anne.
On the town, two chapels are located on private property. As often in the region, during walks, we also discover number of crosses and crucifixes (twenty), old mills and bread ovens that reflect each hamlet was with livelihoods.
