Palhers (Paillos) which means "straw barn" in Occitan was established around the commandery founded by the Knights Templar (or Knights Templar) from the twelfth century. Many artisans and peasants settled around the commandery and thus created the agglomeration of Palhers. Until the revolution, the Commandery is served by Hospitallers also Knights of Malta from the sixteenth century.
Palhers is a small rural town located 4 km southeast of Marvejols, bordering the RD 808 and the Jordane Valley. The predominant activity is essentially agricultural (8 sheep and cattle farms), but also some small businesses thanks to its geographical situation.
