Castle of Messac

Monument in Laroquebrou

Listed as a Historic Monument for its facades and roofs, as well as for its interior chimneys, the Château de Messac in Laroquebrou was originally erected in the 14th century. Transformed many times, the current manor house composed of two wings hinged at right angles on a turreted staircase dates from the end of the 15th century.

The Château de Messac is a fine example of civil architecture from the end of the Middle Ages in Cantal. Inhabited private property, it is not accessible to visitors.
