Municipality of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, La Condamine-Châtelard is located in the heart of the Ubaye Valley, just a few kilometers from Barcelonnette. The village takes place at 1305 meters above sea level, at the confluence of the Ubaye and the Parpaillon stream.
Populated since ancient times, the municipality of La Condamine-Châtelard was formerly dependent on the archbishopric of Turin. The village, which takes its name from an ancient castle of the Counts of Provence, passes into the hands of the King of France in the early eighteenth century and develops gradually. Mostly destroyed during the Second World War, it still attracts visitors for the beauty of its landscapes, as well as for its family-friendly winter sports resort.
Built in the early nineteenth century, St. Catherine's Church presents in particular a painting of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple of the mid-nineteenth century. On the top of the pediment, you can admire a bull's-eye attic in the shape of a scallop shell.
Built around the same time, the Saint-Clément du Châtelard church has Carolingian baptismal fonts classified as Historical Monuments, as well as a vaulted choir in a cul-de-four.

Fort Tournoux, built in the nineteenth century, takes place at 1,730 meters above sea level. Formerly part of the Maginot line, it is located on a path to Italy. Not far, we can also discover the battery of Dormilhouse, or the fort of Serre de Laut.
The leisure center of Champ Félèze is appreciated by visitors for its many activities such as tennis, volleyball, hiking or water sports. The site also has a campsite.
Several marked hiking trails take place on the town, like the GR 6. During these walks, it is possible to discover the Col de Parpaillon or Pointe Clau.
The town has a winter sports resort, the resort of Sainte-Anne-la-Condamine. Located a few minutes from Barcelonnette, this family resort offers thirty kilometers of downhill ski slopes, with seventeen green, blue, black and red runs. The site also has a beautiful area dedicated to off-piste, as well as hiking trails.
