Charming little town of Ain, in region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Jujurieux takes place about thirty kilometers from Bourg-en-Bresse, in the area controlled appellation wines of Bugey. It is located near Dover, Mérignat and Saint-Jean-le-Vieux.
Occupied since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the remains found there, the territory of Jujurieux developed in the Middle Ages, especially with the foundation of a priory in the twelfth century. Strongly affected by the successive invasions of the Huns and the Saracens, the town resurgent in the nineteenth century thanks to the silk industry, especially under the influence of the nearby city of Lyon.
