Bourg du Finistère in Brittany, Daoulas is located at the confluence of the Mignonne and Lézuzan, about fifty kilometers from Quimper. It takes place not far from Plougastel-Daoulas, Landerneau or Le Tréhou, close to the sea.
Populated since the Gallo-Roman era, the small town of Daoulas then took place on the Roman road leading from Quimper to Landerneau. Simple feudal mound in the sixth century, it then develops in castrum, taking a larger scale with the foundation of his abbey in the twelfth century. Prosperous, the Breton city declined in the nineteenth century, before being reborn thanks to its porcelain industry.
Today very touristy, the commune of Daoulas seduces the visitors of passage by its natural charm, as much as by the vestiges of a rich architectural heritage.
