Reunionese cuisine is a mix of several influences that have been brought by immigrants over time. With this cooking class, you will learn how to properly cook the typical dishes of Reunion Island: samosas, tomato rougail, curry, or even the weaver cakeThe meeting will take place in the morning around 8 a.m. directly at the fairground market. You will then meet Jacky, who will love to tell you anecdotes about the village in which he grew up and his island. It will help you select the essential ingredients in order to prepare lunch. Afterwards, you will get back in your vehicle to go to Jacky's family restaurant "Far Far Kréole" in Sainte-Suzanne. He will introduce you to all the utensils necessary and used for Reunionese cuisine as well as their origins. You will all participate together in the preparation of the typical lunch, from the folding of the samosas to the weaver cake or the traditional rougail. While waiting for your dish to be cooked, Jacky will explain all the influences of the island's traditional cuisine: Indian, Chinese and Malagasy.
