In Chalonnaise, Fontaines extends in the agricultural plain at the foot of Saint-Hilaire.

Fontaines owes its name to the many springs flowing in its territory. The village is crossed by many small streams that feed washing and fountains.

• The Church of St. Just was built between the 14th and 15th century with stones from ancient quarries of Saint-Hilaire. It has a massive tower pierced on each side of its two twin bays semicircular. The octagonal spire is covered with glazed tiles. Four stone pinnacles adorn the base. The chapels are covered with lava.

• The tower of Saint Hilaire built in 1862 is located on the hill of the same name. On top of this building beautiful stone throne statue of the Virgin. The bell is inside a particular virtues. Legend has it that a young girl coming on Easter Monday for them to ring the bell 3 times to marry within the year.
• Green Lane runs along the Central Canal. 2-3-4 loops pass through Fontaines and allow to appreciate the charm.
• In the plains, many hiking trails.
• The fitness trail on the mountain made St. Hilaire offers 3 marked trails to explore, among other things, the vineyards, woods and beautiful scenery.
