Castle Germolles:

In 1380 the Duke of Burgundy, Philip the Bold, acquired for his wife, Margaret of Flanders, the fortified house of Germolles. The Duchess transforms into a luxurious residence that work the best artists of the Burgundian school (Claus Sluter John Beaumetz).

The visit to discover the cellar, the lower chapel and the entrance towers (remnants of the primitive fortress), the main hall, chapel and the Ducal apartments, as well as those of the court. Painted or carved decorations and floor tiles reflect the quality of the place.

The hamlet above the castle and an English-style park designed in the 19th century, complete the site.

Germolles is not only one of the few palatial and princely residences of the French era, but also the only country residence of the Dukes of Burgundy largely preserved.

Opening to visit the castle of Germolles: From mid-March to late April: visits from 14h to 18h except Monday; open on Easter Monday. From May 1 to mid-October: visits every day from 9:45 to 12:30 and from 14h to 19h30 (last tour 18.30). From mid-October to mid-November: visits from 14h to 18h, except Monday. From mid-November to mid-March: Visits by appointment.

Tours are available all year by appointment, including during periods of closure.
