Small town of 433 permanent inhabitants, capital of Canton, Valgorge is in the heart of the Ardèche Cévennes, in the valley of Baume, located 23 km from Largentière and Joyeuse. It covers 2636 hectares and the altitude it varies from 400 to 1500 m.
Valgorge is rich in inter-services (library, community center, nursery, country relay...), has local shops (post office, garage, food, goat cheese producers, sheep, chestnut creams and other products derivatives of chestnuts, jams, honey, apple juice and fruit and vegetables, restaurants and hotels) and various associations that help to animate and make live the village throughout the year.
