Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost

Erected in the 12th century, the Saint-Maurice church underwent many transformations until the 19th century. Mainly of Romanesque style, it reveals a typical architecture of the Coastal region with pebble walls. Rarely used for worship, it was replaced in the 1970s by the current Notre-Dame church.

Built in the early 1930s to plans by architects Lamier and Bonnamour, the current town hall is inspired by the buildings of Tony Garnier. The one that originally housed elementary school classes has seen many renovation campaigns, still unveiling a beautiful red facade and a tiled roof today.

But it is also for its natural heritage that the municipality of Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost is appreciated. It notably hosts part of the Grand Parc de Miribel-Jonage, an island built in the 19th century with, in particular, walking trails, a nautical base or a golf course.

• The weekly market is held every Saturday morning on Place Charles de Gaulle.
• In July, Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost welcomes its traditional fashion.
• Fireworks and popular ball are offered in mid-July to celebrate the national holiday.
• The papillotes cross is organized every year in December.
• The Festival of Lights is celebrated every December 8 by many inhabitants of the city.
