Church Saint-Martin

Monument in Chablis

Church Saint-Martin - Monument in Chablis
8.1

Founded in the nineteenth century and entrusted to the canons of Saint Martin of Tours, collegiate Chablis was rebuilt at the turn of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. This elegant building, whose construction seems inspired from Sens Cathedral, is one of the first Gothic churches in the area. Despite wars and fires, including one that destroyed much of the building in the seventeenth century, Saint Martin has kept its architectural homogeneity.
