Hautes Pyrénées is part of the relatively undiscovered and tranquil south west of France also known as Gascony. The small village of Vidou is situated just 3.5 km from the 13th century bastide market town of Trie sur Baïse, A market takes place every Tuesday. There are varied events including classical music concerts in the 13th century monastery, and a week long fête in August, with a range of entertainment. The surrounding countryside offers spectacular scenery, walking, cycling, horse riding. We are close to Mariac that has a 3 week jazz festival which commences the last week in July which is extremely popular. There is also a 3 day country and western festival in Mirande every July. Trie-Sur-Baise for a week in August celebrates life, with outdoor music, activities, al-fresco dining and markets. We are within an hour to the border of Spain and 45 minute drive to the nearest ski station. We have excellent cycling routes all around which the Tour de France took 2018 from our town. There are excellent fishing facilities for fly and coarse. There are 5 lakes all close by with beautiful views of the mountains. Michouat Gite has terrace and pool views, as well as superb views of the Pyrenees.
This country house features a private pool, jacuzzi, hammock, a garden with outdoor eating area, table tennis, free WiFi and free private parking. The Gite offers a fridge freezer, dishwasher, cooker, washing machine, microwave and all of the normal facilites in a kitchen. The lounge has a television with English and French TV channels with a log burner. There are en-suite bathrooms in each bedroom with an electric fan. While downstairs, there is are shower room facilities. Speaking English and French, Julie and Andy are readily available if required.
