Since 1991, the Somme Bay has celebrated birds at the Bird and Nature Festival, which takes place every year in April. The festival is a public event offering activities for the whole family over a period of nine days.
On foot, on horseback, in a carriage, kayak or boat, welcoming and friendly guides reveal the secrets of the natural environment of Picardy. These outings are a great way to discover the environment, birdsong, seals in the Bay and many other treasures.
The Bird and Nature Festival also offers a selection of the world’s best animal documentaries. Thirty or so films about birds, animals and the environment are screened throughout the week. Many artists are also present at the various exhibitions: photographers, painters and sculptors, both professional and amateur, reveal the beauty and fragility of biodiversity through their works. Ten or so hands-on and educational workshops are organised for children.
