Medieval fortress located in the town of Villamblard, in the Dordogne, the Barrière castle was erected during the 13th century. Listed as an historic monument, it has suffered extensive damage over the centuries, today appearing in the form of recently renovated ruins.
Cradle of Count Wigrin de Taillefer, Château Barrière now houses collections of objects from forges in neighboring towns and the rest of Périgord. Having become an important cultural hub in this small town in southwestern France, it hosts numerous events of all types every year.
