In the southern department of Correze the borders of Limousin, Pays de la Xaintrie on the township of Saint-Privat (arrondissement of Tulle) lies the small town of Saint-Geniez-ô-Merle.
Covering an area of 15.9 square kilometers, it occupies a very diverse topography, ranging from 563 meters on the agricultural plain and 243 meters in the valley Maronne. The inhabitants of Saint-Geniez-ô-Merle numbered 108 at the 2004 census.
Initially installed at a place called? Le Vieux Bourg? and called Geniez-Las-Coste, City Hall is relocated in 1897 from the village to the hamlet of Soult, the more the center of the town at that time it changes its name to the current Saint-Geniez-ô-Merle.
