The menhir of the Reclining Stones is located in the town of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, in the Loire-Atlantique department.
Located along the road linking Saint-Brévin to Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef to the south, also called "menhir of Pierre Couchée or Pierre Couche", it is located on a small square plot, nestled between two houses. Its name comes from the fact that the site was once frequented by women who wanted to become mothers or hoped for a peaceful motherhood...
This monolithic block of quartz sandstone is two meters high and one meter wide. Its shape is triangular.
It is buried in the ground to an equal depth, approximately two meters.
Perfectly observable by the public, protected as historical monuments, the menhir is one of the seven dolmens or menhirs listed in the town. This confirms the antiquity of human occupation in the region of the Pays de Retz.
