Located in the heart of the Gironde, in the village of Saillans, the Saint-Seurin church was built during the 14th century on the remains of an old chapel with secular patronage. Listed as an historic monument, it was largely rebuilt in the 17th century, retaining only its original arched portal.
Outside, the building has a lower part of the facade in Romanesque style, while the Gothic prints the style of the upper part. Inside, lovers of religious art will appreciate the stained glass windows by Dagrant and Lieuzere from the 19th century, notably representing healthy Benoît Larbre, Joan of Arc, Notre-Dame de La Salette or the Sacré-Coeur.
The church of Saillans also has very beautiful furniture, notably with its stone stoup carved with a skull or its Virgin and Child in alabaster. Coming straight from England, this beautiful polychrome statue dates from the 15th century and is classified as an Historic Monument.
