Located at the gateway to the Baie de Somme, in the Baie de Somme - Picardie Maritime Regional Nature Park, the town of Noyelles-sur-Mer is a major tourist destination in the region. It is located not far from Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, Port-le-Grand or Ponthoile.
Occupied since prehistoric times, the town developed in the Middle Ages, notably with the construction of a fortress at the mouth of the Somme. Many times taken and retaken by the French or the English, Noyelles-sur-Mer also experienced a strong period of turmoil with the First World War, sheltering at that time an important British rear base and a camp of Chinese immigrant workers.
More peaceful today, this city in the north of France seduces visitors as much by its heritage as by its incredible natural landscapes.
