Listed as an historic monument, the Saint-Étienne church of Marcoux, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, was erected during the 12th century. Magnificently decorated, it unveils in particular in its interior a beautiful high altar in gilded wood from the 17th century as well as several exceptional paintings like Mary Magdalene and Saint Stephen at the foot of the Cross made in the 16th century.
Visitors can also discover a stained glass window and a reliquary recalling the memory of Saint Jacques Chastan, a native of Marcoux martyred in the 19th century in Korea.
