The church of Saint-Christophe is located in the commune of La Tour-du-Meix, in the Jura department, 5 km east of Orgelet.
Dating from the 12th century, remodeled in the 16th and 17th centuries, the building has its origins in a Roman site then a first place of worship serving a priory founded in the 9th century.
Located in the hamlet of Saint-Christophe, to the north of the village, the church includes a bell tower-porch opening onto a nave of four barrel-vaulted bays (Gothic style) and ends with a lower choir, at flat bedside covered with ribbed windows.
The whole appears to be of good size, which contrasts with the modesty of the hamlet, and its interior is rich in ornaments and sculpted elements (pilasters, busts of angels, gallery in the nave resting on pillars and ribbed vaults).
The church and the priory were very appreciated in the 16th century by the abbots of Saint-Claude, and some left their mark there.
The site is the subject of pilgrimages, in particular to obtain the protection of Saint Christopher, patron saint of travelers.
Several statues representative of the Rhineland school and the Burgundian school (which represent the Virgin or Saint Anne, in particular), paintings, elements of furniture are classified as objects.
Restoration work has been initiated in recent years.
