Built in the 12th century in the heart of the Jura, in the Burgundy - Franche-Comté region, the castle of La Tour-du-Meix takes place on the heights of the town. Accessible via a marked footpath, it was subsequently transformed by the abbots of Saint-Claude to control the Cluse de la Pyle, one of the entrances to their domain.
Demolished during the Ten Years War, the building was never rebuilt and today unveils its ruins to visitors.
