Charming village of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Igé takes place in the department of Saône-et-Loire, between Verzé, and Aze Cluny. Set in the Mâconnais, it enjoys a pleasant setting in which to enjoy the Burgundy countryside.
Rich heritage attractions, the village of Igé is known to have been the starting point of the peasant, or Great fear of the Mâconnais. This event which followed the fall of the Bastille in 1789, saw the looting of many mansions stately around the country.
Today Igé is best known for its tourism and its undeniable charm. The country still has some beautiful historic relics and monuments which are not without interest and show a glorious and famous past.
