Since January 1, 2019, the new commune, Glières-Val-de-Borne, is part of the Community of Communes Faucigny-Glières and the canton of Bonneville, with a population of nearly 1800 inhabitants, the Gliérois and Gliéroises. It is an entity of more than 7312 hectares, largely in the Glières plateau, which is part of the Arve catchment area.
The inhabitants of Entremont and Petit-Bornand-les-Glières are linked by a common history. They were for more than 600 years under the yoke of the canons of the abbey of Entremont, until their emancipation in 1772. The two communes were created in 1774. In 1860, after the attachment of Savoy to France, Petit-Bornand and Entremont belong to a privileged privileged area, the "free zone", which lasted until 1923. In 1940, the grouping of many maquisards took place on the Glières plateau. Petit-Bornand and Entremont serve as relays for the supply and links of the Resistance. Tom Morel, leader of the maquis of Glières, is murdered in Entremont. In 1945, Petit-Bornand was quoted to the order of the army and sees in his name Glières. On the Glières plateau was built in 1973 the monument of Emile Gilioli, inaugurated by André Malraux September 2 and dedicated to the dead resistance on the plateau.
Known for its dairy cattle farms and its production of reblochon farmer, the village of Petit-Bornand-les-Glières is also an important tourist place in Haute-Savoie. With its authentic appearance and natural charm, it seduces visitors to the region.

Listed as a historic monument, the presbytery was built in the middle of the 18th century. It presents in particular a medallion with the arms of Jacques de Savoie.

It houses a painting from the Caravaggio period, attributed to the studio of the Flemish painter Dirk Van Baburen, classified as a historical monument since 1904.
Several rural chapels are scattered in the hamlets of Petit-Bornand-les-Glières, like that of the hamlet of the town restored in the nineteenth century and at the end of the twentieth century, that of the hamlet of Beffay at the end of the nineteenth century., or that of Calvary today transformed into a dwelling.
Communal ovens are also present in the town. These are still used during festivities.
