This pre-Alps massif offers a combination of plateaux, coombs, cliffs, alpine pastures (high meadows) and peaks exceeding 2,000 metres. At the Col des Aravis pass, at an altitude of 1,486 metres, the view of the Aravis mountain range and the Mont Blanc mountain range is superb.
It is in the Aravis massif, specifically in the Thônes valleys, that the famous unpasteurised cheese Reblochon is made.
La Maison de la Pomme and Biscantin: In a small village in the valley of ThônesSerraval, discover an amazing heritage site: the Home of Apple and Biscantin dedicated to the history of the potato mountain. The site visit ends with a tasting. Local products from Apple are also available on site. For children, a puppet animation controllers explains the cycle of the apple through the seasons. In July and August, open from Monday to Friday from 15h to 18h. Group tours in the morning or afternoon appointment at +33 4 50 44 66 96.
