Common Breton, Briec takes place in the heart of Finistère, in the Glazik Country. Located in Cornwall, about fifteen kilometers from Quimper, it takes place between Edern and Landudal, not far from the Menez Roc'h-Veur which culminates at more than 200 meters.
Ancient Gallo-Roman fundus, the city of Briec was illustrated at the end of the XVIIth century in the Revolt of the Red Caps, insurrection triggered by the lifting of a new tax by the kingdom. This last ended at Briec by sending the officials to the galleys and the torture of the leaders. Touched by the movements of chouannerie at the time of the French Revolution, the Breton commune soon knew prosperity thanks to the breeding of horses of a particular breed, the double bidets.
Very old, the commune of Briec has a remarkable architectural heritage that attracts many tourists throughout the year.
