Situated in the picturesque rolling hills of the Chalosse, this beautiful Maison de Maître (built in 1871) has been lovingly renovated to offer spacious and comfortable family accommodation, including extended family holidays or groups of families. There's plenty of space for everyone with two large living rooms downstairs, kitchen opening out onto the terrace, four spacious and airy bedrooms on the first floor, one family bathroom with separate toilet downstairs, one en-suite bathroom with sink ; shower and toilet and one cloakroom with toilet and sink upstairs. The house is set in 5 acres of land incorporating its own gardens, terrace and woodland at the rear of the property. A variety of exotic trees and plants, including peach, walnut, cherry and weeping willows provide welcome shade on summer days with plenty of space for privacy or spending time together. The house benefits from a new in-ground 10 m x 5 m eco-friendly salt water pool reducing the use of harsh chemicals. As of April 2016 it is also now fitted with solar heating, so increased pool temperatures for guests throughout the summer and warmer pool temperatures too for swimming in May, June, September and October. Water temperatures reach between 20-28° (depending on outside air temperatures and time of year). The pool is open from mid May to mid October, has a solar shower and is equipped with a safety alarm and gated fencing to keep young children safe around the pool area. The pool and gardens are carefully maintained by the onsite owners. A large barn beside the pool provides shade for dining and games, including a new outdoor table tennis table. We provide plastic plates and glasses to use beside the pool. Previously an old farmhouse, we have interesting relics and rustic items on display and our first two chickens arrived in 2015. Guests have priority use of the pool. We occasionally use it at other times of the day. This is an ideal base for relaxing, family and friends holidays/reunions as well as exploring mountains, the Atlantic coast (Biarritz, Capbreton) and Spain (San Sebastian). Acquired by its new owners in 2012, the house is attractively furnished with a diverse range of beautiful antiques and objects sourced regionally and throughout Europe. A Welcome Pack is included and access to free wi-fi, books and smart tv/dvd with uk tv channels (filmon online) & French free-to-view channels in the house. Bed linen and bath, hand and kitchen towels are provided. We provide an information pack with suggestions of where to visit, a guide to using the equipment in the house andThe house sleeps 8.
