Our forest trail "Achterom" leads you from the parking lot to the Pèr guesthouse. We built the Pèr cottage during the winter of 22/23. With its 31 m², it is comfortable and full of atmosphere. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, a 2-burner induction hob, a microwave, a mini toaster, a nespresso machine and a kettle. Of course, the kitchen inventory is plentiful. Coffee and tea are available for the first few days. For an cappuciio there is an frothed milk maker. A small hall leads to the bedroom. It is equipped with a double bed (2 x 80 x 200) which is made for you when you arrive! There is a wardrobe - This cottage has a spacious bathroom with 80x80 shower cubicle, sink and toilet, toilet paper is provided. Each person has a small towel, a large towel and a washcloth. Every room in this cottage is equipped with electric heating. It is therefore pleasant to stay there outside the summer season. Just like the Fem cottage, this cottage has a 6 m² veranda, so you can sit outside even when it's raining. An inviting terrace fenced by a sheep fence, equipped with a seat, 2 sun loungers and a bbq. This terrace is more spacious and has more sunlight in the morning. Thanks to a fence, both cottages are protected from prying eyes.
Our gîte is non-smoking! There is free WIFI available.
Our gîte is accessible from the car park via a slightly sloping path a 30 metres. This may be less accessible for the disabled. In the gite itself, everything is at floor-level.
The Dordogne is a very green department, with a rich fauna and flora. From the cottages you can walk directly into the forest with its many trails. Apart from enjoying the peace and quiet or the pool, there are also plenty of things to do in the area. From water fun to cave hikes. There are several canoe ramps for beautiful excursions on the Vézère and Dordogne rivers. For those who want to take to the skies, it is also possible to book hot air balloon flights, which allow you to admire all the beauty of the area from the sky. The many medieval villages that surround us all have their own weekly market, on different days. There are also flea markets and flea markets (garage sales) in the area throughout the year. If you like good food and conviviality, a gourmet market in one of the villages in July and August is definitely worth a visit. Bring your plate and cutlery and head to the table. There are several food stalls, food trucks, and often music. In short, there's plenty of fun to be had in the village square! There are also plenty of things to do during the winter months. Halloween is celebrated in many castles. There are welcoming Christmas markets, and why not a castle in the enchanted atmosphere of Christmas! The Périgord-Noir is also known for its truffle markets. Near us, in Saint Alvère, you will find an annual truffle market.
