TOWN PRESENTATION

Combining landscape of water and greenery, the country Stenay is crossed from south to north through the gentle valley of the Meuse and its fat meadow. In the West, it is crossed by the Cotes de Meuse, while in the east lies the vast, deep forest Woëvre; north-west flows the length Chiers and rise the foothills of the Coast Mosel, based on the Ardennes nearby.

Stenay was successively owned by Godfrey of Bouillon, the Duke of Lorraine and the Prince of Conde, who connect to the Fronde, which led to the making and dismantling of the city, ordered by Louis 14th in 1689.
