Located 12 km from Montmédy, with the Vauban citadel overlooking the scenery, is the second Marville Meuse city counting objects or monuments "historic monument", the story of Marville begins in the Middle Ages, when mighty Lord, Count Theobald I, Count of Bar seizes Marville to erect a fortress. It frees the city's law Beaumont, very favorable to people, and married the Countess Ermesinde Luxembourg.
The heirs of Ermesinde cede the city to the Counts of Bar and Luxembourg, causing joint possession for four centuries between the two counties. This period is called "The Land of Communes". It is characterized by a neutral benefit to the inhabitants of Marville during the tumultuous time of the feudal wars.
Marville be enriched this favorable position and will culminate at the Renaissance in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

The cemetery Saint-Hilaire: Historical Monument in 1931... Overlooking the village, the cemetery Saint-Hilaire is a place of rare beauty where the sculpture reflects the rich marvillois past. You will admire sumptuous Gothic monuments and Renaissance influence, all dedicated to meditation and contemplation, not forgetting the leprosarium of the diocese of Trier.

Each year Marville opens its cellars with winemakers from all over France. For two days in mid-June they offer for tasting and selling their production. You will discover the beautiful wineries Marville which for some of them date from the fifteenth century.
Every third Saturday of the month a market of local producers is organized on the Sain Benoit square outside the city hall. Come numerous!
